Thank you to the young man at Costco, and to his parents for teaching him manners. I was waiting in the crowded Costco concession line with Sam, about to finally get a chance to fill up our drink. Just then a boy, 13 or 14, darted in front of me to start filling his own up. An instant before I could start thinking nasty thoughts about kids today and why the heck don’t parents teach them right, and I swear I was never this rude when I was younger . . . the boy backed up and said, ”Oh I’m so sorry. Go ahead.”
Thank you to the man who works his butt off so I can spend each and every day with our sweet boy, and who still listens to me gripe and complain the moment he gets home from his long day because I’m selfish and bratty like that. After shopping at Costco, Sam and I grabbed a Sprite, a churro, and a huge slice of pepperoni pizza. As we sat at a little table, sharing our lunch, my heart just swelled so huge. This is what it’s about! These are the moments I would be giving up if Erik wasn’t such a wonderful, selfless, hard worker. I know, I’m so cheesy {ar har, no pun intended} but I can’t even explain the sweet feeling it was to just sit there, with my little buddy right by my side, covered in pizza sauce, saying “Ok, share” when I asked for a sip of the drink. I absolutely adore that kid, and I am wild about his father! Thank you to my two favorite guys.
It was a busy morning running lots of errands, but we finally made it home at 1:30. After unloading and putting away groceries, I went over to Sam and rubbed his little back. I told him I had a good time with him, and thanked him for being such a good sport about doing mommy things all day. I think my heart exploded when Sam replied, “Thank you pizza, mommy. Thank you drink.” Have I told you much I love this little Samster of mine?!
