Mommy Fun

I love comparing pictures of my two boys.  On the left is Samuel at 2 months 9 days.  Owen on the right at 2 months 11 days.  I can definitely see that they are brothers, but I think they look very different.  Besides the glaring lack of Owen’s hair, I also see big differences in his eyes, his mouth, and his chin.  And Samuel has adorabley huge dimples that Owen does not.  But, their bodies are like exactly the same.  Maybe my NEXT baby will be a chunker.  Or maybe I’m doomed to have little babies that make me fret and worry about each fraction of an ounce they do (or do not) eat.  But one thing is for sure, chunky or not, I do make pretty dang cute babies.  {I’d say “Just kidding” but really I’m not.  Although I AM humble enough to admit that I am completely and entirely partial.  Hehe.}

Compare and Contrast

Yesterday, I stole a peak at Owen while he slept.  When I found him like this I ran for the camera.  I knew I had to capture this . . .

Because I just happened to have a picture of Samuel like this . . .

I think they look much more alike when they sleep.  Their biggest difference is in their eyes.  But they both have the same little button nose, and almost exactly the same profile.  Cute little boys!

Another Doctor Visit

February 16th, 2007 Annelise Posted in comparing, doctor, Mr. Sammers, sickies No Comments »

Yesterday we went to the doctor, but not for a well visit this time . . . it was our first sick visit! Samuel has been really cranky and uncomfortable, and had a really hard time eating for almost 4 weeks now. He would only eat about 20 ounces a day, when 40 is the average for what he should be getting at 3 months. I had called and talked to nurses a couple times, but this last time the nurse told me we had better bring Samuel in. I am so glad we did! Samuel had been gaining weight, but not enough. It did not take the doctor long to figure out Sam had severe reflux. Once he told us that, it all clicked, and everything made sense. It is such a relief to know what the problem is, and now have some medication to make it all better. We should see some changes in just a couple days! It will be great to have our happy hungry Sam back again.

After this visit, I let Samuel keep sleeping in his car seat. I sat there just watching him, staring at him, and thinking about how far we’ve come. Samuel turned 3 months old just this week! I still cannot believe how much he has changed. He talks like crazy, and I don’t just mean little coos and babbles. He grabs my face, looks me right in the eyes, and TALKS TO ME! He rolls over all the time, and I even think he will be crawling sooner than we think. We have loved every moment so far, and can’t wait for all the wonderful moments to come.
Just for a little comparison . . . this is Samuel on his way to his 1 week doctor’s visit, and Samuel just yesterday after a doctor’s visit at 3 months and 3 days.
