A Bit of Math

24 out of 40.  That’s 6 tenths.  Which is also 3 fifths.  Or 60%.  No matter how you look at it, it’s just not that much.  Certainly not enough to be looking like this already . . .

But besides being a mondo monster, huger than huge, things are aok!  This is the “good” part right?  I actually really like being pregnant, and I kind of think it suits me well.  Hehe.  I just can’t believe how big I am already.

Samuel has already got a contender for most active non-stop moving child.  Little Brother likes it to be known that he is there and wide awake.  He’s even tried to push Sam’s knee out of the way several times when I’ve been holding him.

At my appointment today, everything checked out great.  I measured right on for 24 weeks, even though I managed to gained 6Six.  Six!  S.I.X. — pounds since my last check up.  My back kills, I can’t sleep at night even when surrounded by all five of my pillows, I have braxton hicks very regularly, my hips are starting to hurt, and I’ve even had a few sciatic twinges already.  Sixteen more weeks?!  That’s a joke right?!  Ha.

But, in all honesty, I’ll take the side effects and discomforts.  I am healthy and so is Little Brother.  It’s kind of crazy that I will have 2 kids!  Samuel is also starting to take an interest, which makes this experience that much more exciting.  I know how truly blessed I am.  Life is pretty dang good.

  1. flip. You look sooo great! SO GREAT.

  2. I know how you feel! BTW, you look darn cute, so no complaining! Where did you get your jeans? They actually look like CUTE maternity pants, if that is even possible. I was just noticing last week how my 2 pair of maternity jeans are really not fashionable AT ALL! Anyways, it is nice to read about someone who is just about as far along as I am and prego with #2. I never experienced braxton hicks with Isabelle and have been experiencing what I THINK are braxton hicks with this one, so that’s interesting. She is a mover, too, and I feel like her foot is stuck under my right ribs, so that’s not fun. Anyways, like you said, I am healthy and so is the little one, so things are great!

  3. You are so cute! I love it!

  4. And look how cute you are! You’re not huge. You actually look really good.

  5. yeah for you being so positive about pregnancy! and you look amazing! not just the adorable belly, but the hair, clothes, etc. I’m a tad jealous.

  6. You look fantastic! I never did look that prego-chic when I was prego.

  7. You look very prego-chic and just the right size.

  8. Oh, Annelise! You look beautiful-I’m so jealous that you look so beautiful when you’re pregnant. And gaining 6 pounds is nothing compared to my record. That’s the great thing about being pregnant-you can pretty much do what you want and people should not make you feel guilty, neither should you make yourself feel guilty. Its good that you like being pregnant.

  9. I think you look AMAZING!!! Your belly is soooo cute!

  10. Man, how many bagels with cream cheese did you buy? Hahaha ONLY KIDDING!!!!!! (PLEASE understand that was a joke about your craving when you were visiting….it is in NO WAY a comment about how you look!!!!) I’ve gained weight like that in one month before and then hardly at all the next month. I think I gained 8 lbs in one month before. Don’t worry about it! You LOOK totally awesome! I wish I was that SMALL with 16 weeks to go. You’re at the point when people ALWAYS start asking me if I’m having TWINS! All of your aches and pains….I can totally sympathize! I’ve been there. Look at it this way, at least you are SUPPOSED to be gaining weight. I, however, am supposed to be losing weight, and still put back on 3! ARGH! Stupid desserts! Why does chocolate always have to sound so good?

  11. [...] As positive as I try to be, my pregnancy enthusiasm is waning.
